The Tribunal Comes to Your School

Between Tradition and Modernity: Educational Programme on the Water Tribunal of the Vega of Valencia

This 2025/2026 school year hosts the 5th edition of the outreach programme promoted by the Generalitat Valenciana ‘The Tribunal Visits Your School’, carried out by the Water Tribunal, through which it visits various educational centres in Valencia.

The aim is for students at different levels—6th year of primary school, secondary school and sixth form—to learn about everything surrounding this millennia-old institution. Staff trained in history and cultural heritage visit the educational centres participating in the programme and, in addition to the theoretical training, conduct a practical, participatory group activity that involves the students and enables them to gain an in-depth understanding of how the institution works and the characteristics of the Thursday sessions.

This activity seeks to highlight the importance of the institution as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, a distinction that UNESCO awarded to the Water Tribunal in 2009.

The educational centres participating in this programme may also attend one of the Tribunal’s Thursday sessions in person.

The waiting list to take part in the programme is growing steadily. If you would like your school to participate in this activity, you must complete this form and, in strict order of registration, we will respond and confirm the possible dates for the activity.
