The Irrigation Channels

The irrigation channels of the Vega that comprise the Tribunal have not always been the same, just as the territory irrigated by each of them has been subject to changes in crops, land structure, the emergence of new needs for farmland, or other factors that have occurred since Islamic times.

The 9 irrigation channels that form the Water Tribunal of the Turia in the Vega of Valencia draw their water a short distance below the Valencia Drinking Water dam, and their weirs are found in this order.

It should be noted that the growth of the city and the South Plan works substantially modified the water intake of the irrigation channels closest to the city, and the so-called 'azud del repartiment' greatly altered the original structure of the Favara, Rascanya, and Rovella channels, which are now grouped in this new weir.
