Its owners considered that they would obtain greater benefits if they managed the irrigation system directly, so they took control of it from the beginning.

When the Ordinances of the Mislata irrigation ditch were approved in 1751, and given that the Xirivella irrigation ditch was one of its branches, the need arose to clearly delimit the competences of each community. To avoid possible interference, the representatives of both parties agreed, by means of a public deed, that articles 1, 2, 26 and 32 of the Mislata Ordinances would not be applicable to the Xirivella irrigation ditch.

Subsequently, the community of Xirivella drew up its own government ordinances, and they were approved by Royal Provision issued on December 1, 1792, which were printed in Valencia in 1794 by José Estevan y Cervera. These rules coincided to a large extent with those of Mislata, except in some specific aspects, such as the celebration of the General Meeting for the appointment of charges, which was to take place on the third day of Easter of the Holy Spirit.

Subsequently its printing was agreed at the General Meeting of irrigators held on May 15, 1864 and later reprinted in Valencia in 1943 by Hijos de N. Regolf.

In addition, the irrigation ditch of Xirivella would have a Governing Board independent of that of Mislata, composed of four elected members, a Sindico Escribano and a Síndico Labrador, who would be so by reason of his office and should be a resident of Xirivella or its municipal district. Of the four elected members, one was to belong to the ecclesiastical branch and the other to the military, following the traditional organization by estates, and nowadays they are all irrigating farmers in the municipality of Xirivella, since today their jurisdictional area only extends to the south of the municipality in polygons 3, 4 and 5 of the municipality of Chirivella. Previously, land was irrigated in the municipality of Valencia on the other side of the new Cauce del Plan Sur.

["post-2597","acequia","type-acequia","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry
["GET
